In the “Roaring Twenties”, Steiff launched a variety of lively, cheerful spirited bears with large welcoming pupil eyes, a less pronounced snout and a softer friendlier face. The ones most widley liked were the ones made from tipped mohair. It was one of these 1926 tipped teddies that became the most expensive auctioned antiqued teddy in history in 2002.

16"/40cm, 2021, Brown tipped wavy mohair, beige wool felt paw pads, glass dark pupil eyes, underscored button in ear made from patinated steel, brown hand stitched nose, mouth and claws, shaved muzzle, black and white elephant chest tag, squeaker.  Fully jointed, made in Germany certificate.
