11"/28cm, 2004, Blond wavy mohair, bronze floss mouth and nose, black eyes, blond mohair paw pads cut very short so it resembles velvet. Copy of the elephant painting stencil used by Steiff to  decorated their transport boxes in and around 1900 is secured to the bears chest. Since this is the commemorative year for the Steiff button this little bear's button is embossed with the elephant.   Comes with a booklet "The Birth of a Trademark" which tells the story of the "Button in Ear" with pictures of the various ones used over the past 100 years.  Fully jointed bear.
